During the early phases of the project, the EfCI partners worked with Learning Resource Network (a UK-based but internationally focused Awarding Body for vocational qualifications) to develop and enhance an existing qualification – the Level 3 Award in Entrepreneurship for the Creative Industries. This work involved developing and integrating additional units relating to the Creative Industries in Europe.
With the support of Learning Resource Network, this has enabled us to develop a new qualification – the Level 3 Certificate in Entrepreneurship for European Creative Industries. This new qualification builds on the Level 3 Award in Entrepreneurship for the Creative Industries by adding an additional unit covering Creative Industries Entrepreneurship in Europe, focused on three core learning outcomes that will enable students to:
- Understand their specific sector of the Creative Industries in another EU country
- Understand legal structures relevant to Creative Industries enterprise start-up and ‘freelancing’ in a European context
- Undertake a case study of a Creative Industries business in another European country
The new qualification was recognised by Ofsted in the UK in April 2017 – the Qualification Accreditation Number is 603/1049/2 and the full qualification specification can be downloaded via the link below:

The next step for the EfCI project is for the partners to investigate the potential for accrediting and recognising the new qualification in Ireland, Italy, Poland and Spain.
